A 38 m² studio in a new complex in Chakvi. The developer’s finish was already there; what was missing was everything that makes a flat rentable. The owner lives in Almaty and never visited the property.
How it ran
After the inspection we sent an itemised estimate with photographs and product codes: furniture, appliances, textiles, dishes, lighting, decor and consumables. It was approved in two days over messenger, and then came purchasing, delivery and assembly.
Where the money went
- Furniture from our own workshop: kitchen, bed with drawers, wardrobe, sofa.
- Appliances: fridge, hob, washing machine, two air conditioners, water heater, TV, router.
- Textiles: three sets of bedding per bed, towels, blackout curtains.
- Dishes for four, a drying rack, iron, hairdryer, first-aid kit and a month of consumables.
- Lighting, decor, professional photography for the listing and the listing text.
Timing and money
Three weeks from the inspection to the handover, with a budget of 9,800 $. The receipts were attached to the report and there was no variance against the estimate.
How it turned out
The listing went live four days before the first check-in and the first guests arrived in May. The owner saw the flat in photographs before seeing it in person.
