We design, fabricate and install canopies, gazebos, extensions, verandas and pergolas on steel and aluminium frames in Batumi and across Adjara. We start from the job rather than the material: what the structure has to do — shelter a car, extend a terrace, give you a place to sit in the garden or add new space to the house. Material, roofing and base are then chosen for that job and that particular spot.
Steel or aluminium
There is no universal answer: both work well by the sea when the joints, coating and fixings suit the structure. The table below is a starting point for the first conversation. The final choice is made after measuring and, where needed, an engineering calculation.
| Steel frame | Aluminium frame | |
|---|---|---|
| Usually suits | long spans, heavy roofing, carports, gazebos, extension frames | terraces, entrances, verandas and pergolas where lightness and slim profiles matter |
| Weight | heavier, so posts and base carry more load | lighter, but long spans need intermediate posts or a stronger profile |
| Corrosion protection | galvanising or a paint system; the protection of welds and cut edges is what decides it | does not rust, but oxidises and suffers in contact with other metals; fixings and isolated joints matter |
| Appearance | from industrial to minimal, depending on sections and paint | slim profiles and factory colour, pairs easily with glazing |
| Care | check the coating, touch up chips | wash off salt and dust, check seals and fixings |
| Cost | compared by estimate: for the same job we can price both options | |
Which job, which page
- Shelter for a car or a hardstanding by the house — steel canopies. If a canopy over an entrance or terrace should look lighter — aluminium canopies.
- A place to relax in the garden or by a guest house — steel-frame gazebos.
- Shade over a terrace, by the pool or outside a café — aluminium pergolas.
- New space next to the house: a covered terrace, a veranda, a room — steel-frame extensions or aluminium extensions and verandas with glazing.
Masonry garages, sheds and summer kitchens are on the garages and carports page. Block extensions and added floors are under extensions and added floors.
Roofing, coating and drainage
Roofing is chosen for the purpose. Profiled sheet and metal tiles give full cover from rain and sun, polycarbonate lets light through, sandwich panels cut heat and the noise of heavy rain, and glass suits verandas and terraces where the design is confirmed by calculation and by the profile system. The pitch, the junction with the wall and the gutters are designed together with the frame: water from the roof has to go into the drainage, not onto the facade, the paving or the neighbours.
Steel is protected by hot-dip galvanising or a paint system, depending on the structure and conditions, with welds and cut edges treated separately. For aluminium we use factory-finished profiles and compatible fixings, and separate it from other metals with isolating pads so galvanic corrosion does not start.
Sea climate
By the sea, metal has to cope with salt, humidity, wind and heavy downpours, and in mountain Adjara with snow as well. So we look beyond the frame at the details: where water could collect, how profile ends are closed, how the roofing is fixed, whether metal touches soil or wet concrete. Wind and snow loads for a particular site are assessed by an engineer; we do not publish one-size-fits-all figures.
Base and fixing
A free-standing structure needs posts on a sound base; one attached to the house also needs a secure fixing to the wall or floor structure. Whether that means new footings, an existing slab or anchoring into the wall is decided after the site visit. If the wall or slab cannot take the load, we propose a different layout rather than fixing it however we can.
Documents and approvals
Whether an approval is needed depends on size, use, position on the plot and the building zone. We check this before work starts and tell you which documents will be required. We do not promise that a canopy or extension needs no permit until we have checked the specific plot.
What makes up the price
The cost depends on the material and frame sections, size and spans, the number of posts, the type of base, roofing, metal coating, drainage, glazing, removal of an old structure, delivery and machine access, and for complex jobs an engineering calculation. That is why we quote after measuring and show every item separately in the estimate. For a first idea, fill in the form below: size, structure type and roofing can be approximate.
Where we work
Batumi and Adjara: Makhinjauri, Green Cape, Chakvi, Kobuleti, Gonio, Kvariati, Khelvachauri. Other towns in Georgia by arrangement. Metal structures are often ordered together with other construction work: roofing and gutters, fences and landscaping of the plot.
