We make sofas, corner sofas, armchairs, headboards, benches and window seats to size: frame, filling, upholstery and mechanism chosen for how the piece will actually be used.
Frame and mechanism decide the life
A hardwood and plywood frame rather than chipboard, and a mechanism rated for the way it will be opened. A sofa slept on nightly and a sofa opened twice a year are different products, and the difference is in the mechanism and the frame, not in the fabric. We ask that question first, because it is the one that determines whether the piece lasts three years or fifteen.
Filling and comfort
Seat firmness is a choice, not a default. We explain what high-resilience foam, a spring block and a combination feel like after a year rather than in the showroom, and we build the back and seat depth around the people who will use it — a deep sofa is comfortable for tall people and unusable for short ones, and that cannot be corrected with cushions.
Fabric for the situation
For a home, comfort and look. For a rental property, abrasion resistance and removable covers that survive machine washing. Light velvet in a rental flat photographs beautifully and lasts about two seasons under guests, and we say so before it is ordered rather than after. In this humidity we also avoid fabrics that hold damp and recommend covers that can be washed and dried quickly.
Made to the room
Depth and length are adjusted to the room rather than to a catalogue, which matters in flats where a standard sofa blocks a doorway or leaves an awkward gap. Corner units are designed with the traffic route in mind, and we check the route into the flat before production.
Timing, price and warranty
Production three to four weeks. We quote a range by phone and give a specification after the brief. Warranty: two years on frame and mechanism.
