Plastering and screed

We quote by phone: the price depends on the property, scope and timing

Leave a request

We level walls, floors, openings and slopes: beacon plastering, screed with the correct falls in wet rooms and on balconies, and preparation of the substrate for tiling, painting and fitted furniture.

Why this stage decides the rest

Walls in new buildings here routinely deviate by two or three centimetres across a room. Everything that comes afterwards pays for that deviation: kitchens and wardrobes are made with compensation strips and lose usable depth, large format tiles show every hump, doors need packing, and skirting leaves gaps that have to be filled. Levelling properly at this stage is cheaper than compensating for it in every item that follows, and we show the measured deviations before the estimate so the decision is yours.

Where levelling can be skipped

Not every wall needs to be perfect. Behind a fitted wardrobe or in a utility room the tolerance can be looser, and we will say where it is safe to save. Where fitted furniture, large format tiles or a frameless shower are planned, it is not — those items are made to a plane and cannot absorb a curve.

Screed and falls

Floor screed is laid level for living rooms and with a measured fall in wet rooms, on balconies and terraces, checked with water rather than by eye. Where underfloor heating is planned the pipework is laid and pressure-tested before the pour, and the screed thickness is calculated for it rather than taken from habit.

Drying is not optional

Screed needs time, and in humidity above seventy percent it needs more of it. Laying tiles or flooring over damp screed leads to lifting, mould and a repair that costs more than the original work. We measure residual moisture with an instrument before the next stage rather than working to a calendar, and we tell you honestly when the schedule has to wait.

Timing, price and warranty

Plastering and screed in an apartment take two to three weeks including drying. Priced per square metre with the layer thickness taken into account, since a three-centimetre correction is a different job from a one-centimetre one. Warranty: two years.

Frequent questions

How long does screed take to dry?

It depends on thickness and humidity. We measure residual moisture with an instrument instead of assuming a fixed number of days.

Do walls really need levelling?

If you want fitted furniture and large format tiles, yes. Otherwise the deviation is paid for in every unit made afterwards.

Can you level only the walls where furniture goes?

Yes, that is a common way to save. We show you where it is safe and where it is not.

Can tiles be laid straight after the screed?

No. Laying over damp screed causes lifting and mould later, and the repair costs more than the wait.

Is underfloor heating laid before the screed?

Yes, laid and pressure-tested before the pour, with the screed thickness calculated for it.
