We renovate bathrooms completely: strip-out, waterproofing, plumbing and electrics, tiling, ceiling, sanitaryware, furniture, mirror and lighting. One contract, one deadline, one team — so nobody waits for the next contractor and nobody blames the previous one.
Waterproofing decides everything
It goes over the whole wet zone with the wall-to-floor junction reinforced, and it is tested before tiling. Skipping it is why flats flood their neighbours two years later, and it is also the one thing that cannot be fixed afterwards without taking the tiles off again. We photograph it before the tiling starts, and the photographs stay with you.
Ventilation and humidity
In this climate a bathroom needs working extraction, ideally with a humidity sensor, plus a gap for air to enter under the door. Without airflow the silicone darkens, the grout goes black in corners and the mirror stays fogged. Mould in a bathroom is almost always an airflow problem, not a cleaning one, and no amount of treatment fixes it while the air stands still.
What we plan before the layout is fixed
How far the toilet and shower can move within the drainage fall; where the towels actually go, because a beautiful bathroom with nowhere to hang a towel is a daily annoyance; sockets by the mirror for a hairdryer and a shaver; storage that fits the actual bottles rather than a decorative shelf; and a floor fall to the drain that works, checked with water.
Materials for constant damp
Moisture-resistant board and sealed cuts in the vanity units, hardware with anti-corrosion coating, grout suited to wet rooms, and a wall-hung vanity so the base does not stand in water and the floor can be cleaned underneath.
Timing, price and warranty
Two to four weeks depending on size and how much plumbing is rerouted. If it is the only bathroom in the flat, we plan the stages to shorten the period without water and tell you the exact days in advance. Warranty: two years on finishes, three on concealed engineering.
