Gonio — Gonio

Gonio is a village twelve kilometres south of Batumi, by the fortress and the pebble beach. Prices are lower than in Batumi, and rental demand in summer is steady: there are many private houses that owners let by the night.

What the properties are

The main stock is private houses and small guest properties, plus new complexes along the main road and closer to the sea. The typical request here is not a full renovation but getting the property ready for the season: bathrooms, the kitchen, painting, new furniture and textiles, so that by June the house is taking guests.

The pebble beach and clean water draw a family crowd, but the season is short: demand is high from June to September and low the rest of the time. So we plan the work for winter and early spring, so that by May the property is ready and picks up the bookings that fill up in advance.

Logistics

Twenty minutes from our base in Batumi on a good road. Crews, materials and furniture come without a distance surcharge, and cleaning between stays fits into the standard window between guests.
