Several rooms, one morning
Most properties here are guest houses, and at peak the check-outs come in a wave rather than one at a time. One cleaner working through six rooms makes the last arrivals wait on the terrace. So at peak we send a team, split the rooms, and work from a checklist per room, which also lets the owner see in the photo report which rooms were ready and when.
Common areas are judged first
Guests forgive a small room; they do not forgive a dirty shared kitchen, hallway or bathroom. Common areas take the heaviest footfall and are cleaned more often than the rooms, not less — in season usually daily, whether or not anyone checks out.
Linen decides how many rooms turn over
Linen comes clean from our laundry, never washed on site. For a guest house we calculate the stock for all the beds plus a buffer before the season, because with too few sets the laundry rather than the booking calendar limits how many rooms can be ready by afternoon.
Before and after the season
A deep clean in spring, including mattresses and upholstery where needed, and a closing clean with airing in autumn.
