Homes rather than rental properties
People live here all year, so the brief differs from the coast. Storage is planned around what the household actually owns — winter clothing, bedding, preserves, tools — rather than around a set of showroom photographs. We ask what goes in before drawing anything, because a wardrobe designed by eye ends up half empty on one side and overstuffed on the other, and that cannot be fixed by rearranging.
Older buildings and their dimensions
Soviet-era flats have ceilings of unusual height, pipe boxes in corners, window sills that cut across where a worktop should run and rooms that are not square. Ready-made modules leave gaps against all of that. Made-to-measure closes them and usually adds twenty to thirty percent of usable storage in the same footprint.
Solid wood
Doors, staircases and panelling in kiln-dried timber, treated on every face including the back and end grain so they do not twist through the first winter of heating.
