After a long high-mountain winter
Winter here is long, and a house that stood closed through it opens with dust, damp in the unheated rooms, soot from the stove and cobwebs in every high corner. The opening clean starts with airing and drying, then works through each room top to bottom, the kitchen and bathrooms, the windows and the soft furnishings. Where damp has left mould, treatment goes together with finding its source.
A short season of guests
Visitors come for the high mountain landscape, mostly in the warm months and at weekends. Turnovers are scheduled against the bookings, linen is brought professionally laundered, and the team stays when two arrivals fall close together rather than driving the road twice.
The road and the weather
We agree a realistic arrival window for each visit. After heavy rain or early snow the road decides, and we tell you before the visit rather than arriving late.
Closing for winter
At the end of the season we clean, air and close the house, empty the fridge and leave the cupboards open, so the spring clean starts from a better point.
After renovation
Old houses being rebuilt produce heavy dust, and post-renovation cleaning is done in two passes a day apart.
