What we take into account in Akhalsheni
The village is on a slope, and all the seasonal work revolves around water. Runoff from the plots above comes downhill, and if a channel is blocked with leaves it ends up against your plinth. Before the rainy season we clear the drainage and check the apron and the condition of the retaining walls.
The second theme is terraces. Almost every house has one, and their drains block faster than the roof gutters because they sit lower and collect more leaves. A blocked terrace drain floods the room below it, and that is the most common “sudden” leak in the village.
