What is included
Servicing of the engineering and protection of the pipework against freezing; checks of the roof, the snow load and the places where snow sheds; winterisation for the cold months and reopening; inspection of the stove and the chimney before the season; an emergency call-out.
What we take into account in Khulo
An altitude of over a thousand metres changes the list of concerns. The first is snow: the roof has to take the load, and the shedding must not go onto the entrance and the access. In autumn we check the fixings and the state of the covering, and in winter we monitor the accumulation where possible.
The second is freezing. Long power cuts are not rare here, and unprotected pipework bursts. Winterisation is done seriously: the systems are drained, the equipment is protected, and the points where a pipe runs along a cold wall are checked. The third is access. In winter the road can be difficult, and we discuss honestly how quickly it is realistic to reach the property in an emergency rather than promising the impossible.
How it works
A property record, visits on an agreed schedule, utilities from your deposit, a photo report after every visit. By the time you arrive the house is warmed, aired and cleaned.

A retainer based on the property and the frequency of visits, with the trip into the mountains shown as a separate line.
